He is not yet beaten by daily chores, and he is wide with wonder at the day to day. He alone is completely open to Sarah and all her peculiarities and Biscontini makes this behavior not only understandable but welcome. He brings light into the home and the touch of humor that distinguishes a house with children. He introduces the "Law of Kissing" as if he were an authority. His solo “Don’t Miss the Sea” demonstrates the sophisticated insight and empathy of which children are capable. The full cast: Becca Ayers (Sarah), Herndon Lackey (Jacob), Kate Wetherhead (Anna), Heather Ayers (Estelle/Maggie), and Kenneth Boys (Matthew/William), with Mika Duncan, Kate Fahrner, and Lani Shipman (u/s) Gene took a break from the business for a few months to attend American Ballet Theater this past summer. He is still actively performing with the Broadway Kids and attending audtions. Gene is currently focused on his school studies, and continuing to work on his dance, singing and acting skills. He will be re-entering the world of competitive dance this season and is setting his sites on winning his first National Title as a Teen competitor.
Gene Biscontini started dancing at the age of 4. He never dreamed of doing anything more than taking a few dance classes until the summer of 2001. That was the year he won the National Title at Starpower and attended a special dance convention. At the convention instructors began to encourage him to try to go further and begin building a career. This was beginning of the most exciting part of his life! With no idea what he was in store for Gene attended his first audition for the off-Broadway show, People Garden. He went not knowing he would need to sing or read lines, only thinking it was for a dance role. To everyone's surprise, he learned that day that he could sing. He was cast in the show as Barry and originated the role at the York Theater debut. Gene has since began formal voice and acting training. He remains in dance class with his mom inbetween shows and appearances. He is hoping these last few years are just the beginning and that this is just the start of a life long career.
